Why Pay!?

Chatflow is a company, not a charity

Chatflow is a company with expenses... lots of them! If we don't start covering these expenses we simply can't continue.

We've been working on Chatflow for nearly a year now and have funded everything from our own pockets. All we are asking for is a little support from our fans to help us keep going.

Plus, it's not exactly expensive... much cheaper than a burger or a coffee!

"Most of your competition is FREE... why are you charging!?"

First things first, there is no such thing as "FREE" software. Someone is making money off you one way or another. You may not be giving them money directly but there is most certainly a compromise you have to make.

How "FREE" software makes money

Advertising: Bombarding you with ads... You don't have to look far to see this in action, just jump on Facebook, MSN, YouTube etc. and you will find countless advertisements being pushed on you. Every time you click the ad they make $$$ so at the end of the day their primary goal is to get you to click ads rather than provide you with an awesome service.

Third Party Install: Ever wonder where the hell that extra browser tool bar came from or what that funny icon you've never seen before is doing sitting in your tray? 99% of the time it's due to a "FREE" software application you have installed which has installed OTHER aplications you don't want on your machine. Every time they successfully install a third party product on your machine, they make $$$.

Worse: Now, putting ads in your face and installing other applications on your computer is one thing but it gets much worse. If you are not careful there are other software applications that go as far as farming your personal information and selling it on to others (most commonly your email address). Some even steal your computers resources and processing power!

These are just a few examples to give you a better idea into why these companies can afford to put up their software for "FREE".

In short, we are just being up front with you all by asking for a small fee for the service we provide. You would not expect to go into a burger shop or coffee shop and not pay so why should our service be any different =)?
